A "Sweet" New Years Eve!

I spent New Year's Eve and day in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl. It was a lot of fun!! I, of course, am the top Southern Miss fan but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see one of college football's greatest players final collegiate game. Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators were playing in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl and I was in!

Emily and I went to NOLA Thursday, we wanted to spend time in the city and to see if we could maybe catch a glimpse of Tim Tebow! Let's just say he may have more security around him than the President!! But that didn't stop us from trying, ha!
We stayed at the Hilton Riverwalk, what a beautiful hotel! It is only a few blocks from the Superdome and it happened to be the team hotel for the Florida Gators. We meet many of the players, families, and people associated with the team. Because the team is so talented, many of the players will be going into the NFL draft this Spring. So we met some notable people, Joe Haden, Brandon Spikes, Riley Cooper, the Pouncy twins, Aaron Hernandez and David Nelson. Although security would not let Tim Tebow pose with any fans or sign autographs (there were way too many people!!) we didn't get a picture with him, but we did have several "Tebow Sightings!" We saw him several times and after the Sugar Bowl win he thanked us for coming to the game! It was a quick greeting but I'll take it!
The game was played at the Superdome. The atmosphere was great and the game was fun to watch. It was the last game for the seniors and they played great. Tim Tebow had a game for the record books and the dome was filled with #15 jerseys!

We had to have a slice of King Cake while in New Orleans. The French Quarter was filled with people and it was fun to be there for the holiday!

Here is some of the footage of Tim Tebow greeting the fans. It was a fun weekend and I was happy to be at such an exciting game!
