Costume Change

Over the last couple of weeks at school we have enjoyed many special days.  We've celebrated the 50th day of school, Red Ribbon Week and participated in the United Way campaign.

With these special days comes many "dress-up" days.  The teachers have just as much fun as the students with the costumes.  It has been exciting at PLE!

For the 50th day of school we encourage everyone to dress like the 1950s and everyone in our school participates in a "Sock Hop".  It is super fun and the students enjoy counting each day of school until they reach this day!

Our school district participates in a United Way campaign.  Each school creates clever ways to encourage students to donate for United Way.  Our school decided to have a "Princess Race".  Each of the administrators represents a grade.  Depending on how much our grade raises determines how well we will do in our race.

I am representing Kindergarten!  This week is the final week, but after two weeks I'm in the lead!

All the princesses, Diva Downs (1st grade), Princess Pressley (2nd grade) and Marvelous Marzoni (Kindergarten).  May the best Princess win, ha!

Needless to say, the students LOVE this!

In addition to the "Princess Race" for United Way, each day last week was a dress-up day.  Students could bring in a $1 to donate to United Way and in return could participate in the dress-up days.

Hippie Day!

Character Day!

In the mist of all the fun, we also had HALLOWEEN!  Whew, it's been a busy week!

I always go to Emily and Wade's to help hand-out candy.  They live in a great neighborhood with tons of trick-or treaters.

This is the family that lives across the street from Emily and Wade.  Each year they dress-up in themed costumes.  One year they were characters from "Scooby Doo" and another year they were characters from "Charlie Brown".  This year they were characters from "Toy Story"!

We saw super cute trick-or-treaters all afternoon.

Now it's November....is it too soon to put up my Christmas tree?!
