This week I took a trip to Vicksburg to visit Margie. We had loads of fun catching up!
I haven't been to Vicksburg since the new MEGA El Sombrero opened, so we had to eat dinner there as soon as I arrived. It's like Mexico on steroids!
This week was VBS at Margie's church, she was the director and everyone was singing her praises. She did a great job organizing the week and I was glad to be there to help out where I could. It was such a sweet church family, so welcoming and kind, I was happy to meet them all.
Tuesday night we attended the International Ballet Competition in Jackson. This is a two week event that takes place every four years. As Margie put it, "It's the Olympics of Ballet!" So I was anxious to see all the talented dancers from around the world. Everyone was so talented, my favorite pair was a couple from Belarus. They were really great!
There were dancers from all over the world. We saw these "dancers in training", the girls were taking lessons from the professional dancers. They were from different states across the country, and were so excited to be in Mississippi!
I kept trying to take a picture of the actual competition. But there were signs posted everywhere that said no flash photography or video cameras. As you can see, Margie was definitely wanting to stick to the rules...
Another fun stop on the Vicksburg visit was to "School Aids." It is a wonderful teacher store and I love restocking my classroom with all the great things they have. I could spend hours in there!
Monday night we had to have a "Bachelorette Viewing Party" (that's what Margie kept telling everyone). This was supposed to be the big episode were crazy Kasey reveals that ridiculous tattoo to Ali. It was a much anticipated episode, but did not really live up to the all the hype.
Wrapped up in a "snuggie" ready to see all the drama!
Just a few thoughts on that episode:
1. Crazy Kasey - Seriously?!? Did you think when you showed her that tattoo a light was going to go off in Ali's head and she was going to fall in love with you?! Umm...with or without the tat, you've got some issues! I'm just glad we don't have to hear you say you're going to "guard and protect Ali's heart" again! And what was going on when you were reciting that poem...Seriously?!
2. "Rated R" - You're just as crazy as Crazy Kasey! You are lucky you were paired with him for that 2 on 1 date, otherwise you would not have gotten a rose. The pity for the broken ankle is starting to fade.
3. Chris N. - This is the first episode you've gone on a date with Ali or said anything, you should have kept with that strategy. As soon as she heard you talk, you were out the door, buddy!
More drama next week...I predict that Crazy Kasey makes another appearance and tries to win Ali's heart, you know the one he wants to "guard and protect".
Margie's brother, Rob, was really into the Bachelorette...ha!
It was a fun time in Vicksburg, glad I was able to spend a few days visiting Marge in Charge! And just for laughs, check out this truck on one of the quite streets of Vicksburg...out of control!
