NOLA Super Bowl!

New Orleans was the place to be last Sunday as they hosted the Super Bowl.  I didn't have tickets to the Super Bowl but I couldn't bare being so close to NOLA and not getting in on the action.  So, Emily and I went off on a fun adventure to see all that NOLA had to offer on the day of the big game.  You may remember, when Emily and I get together, we always have fun (i.e., the Timmy adventures!).

New Orleans has to be the best host city of them all!

We started off at the "NFL Fan Experience" in the Convention Center.  And that's exactly what it was, lots of memorabilia and photo opps!

 The Lombardi Trophy!

49ers v. Falcons

Think the Harbaugh brothers would let us in for just one snap?!

Lance Moore was there signing autographs.  This was our third time seeing Lance Moore, of course he remembered us!

 11 time pro-bowler, Derrick Brooks

Drew Brees - His picture was EVERYWHERE!

As you can see, we had a fun time!

After that we walked down to the Riverwalk and Jackson Square.  ESPN was broadcasting live and guess who was out mingling with the fans?  Chris Berman - BOOMER!  "C'mon Man!"

When we walked up he was signing autographs and had already moved away from the area we were standing.  But we knew we had to get a pic!  So I shouted out "Will you please take a picture with us?!"  For which he replied, "Well, I'm not crazy!", and walked right to us!

I was hoping he'd ask me to go on the show, but I think he had plenty of co-anchors covering the Super Bowl.

Then we walked some more and CBS was broadcasting too!  We saw Greg Gumbel, Shannon Sharpe, Boomer Esiason, and Clay Matthews!

People were pumped up for the game!

All the street artist were out in full force.  This artist was asking people to sign their name on this collage.

Then we walked to the Super Dome, that walk down Poydras was OUT.OF.CONTROL!  Oceans of people, cheering and dancing in the streets!

I recorded this little video of some of the action.

Since we didn't have tickets to the game we started heading back about game time.  On the way back we passed by "Mannings" restaurant.  This is a newer restaurant in New Orleans, opened by Archie Manning.  Well, we noticed that there was obviously some type of VIP pre-game party happening inside the restaurant.  There were lots of people trying to get a peek inside.

While Emily and I were trying to get the scoop, someone walked up to us and gave us VIP passes to get into the pre-game party!  Yes, that just happened!!

It was a pre-game tailgate, there were many CBS and FOX broadcasters and staff.  And we happened to run into Thomas Morstead, the punter and pro-bowler for the Saints!  We also met him this summer at training camp, and yes, he remember us!

The restaurant was full of memorabilia from all the Manning QBs.  If you are a fan of the Manning family, you must visit this restaurant.

Just thought this was funny, at 9:00 AM this sign said $30.00 - At 5:00 PM it now reads $100.

Definitely glad I made the trip, a fun day in NOLA for Super Bowl XLVII!  I think NOLA should host ALL the Super Bowls, just saying.  WHO DAT!
