I hope everyone is staying warm and surviving the ice storm! For the upcoming Super Bowl weekend I thought this Frosting Friday post should have a football vibe. I found a cute blog post on another baking blog highlighting "Super Bowl Cupcakes" and thought I would give them a try.
Just pick your favorite cupcake recipe and top with these cute and tasty footballs. They were referred to as "Oreo truffles" but they are your basic "Oreo balls" in the shape of footballs.
Football Truffles
1 bag Oreo cookies, crushed
1 bar cream cheese, softened
Melted milk chocolate
Royal Icing
Combined crushed oreo and cream cheese. Shape into oval, football shapes. Place on a cookie sheet and put in the freezer for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, melt chocolate. Remove footballs and dip in chocolate. After dried, add white detailing.
You could definitely serve these as is or use them as a cupcake topper!
