It's Game Day at "The Rock"

The Southern Miss football season is off to a great start!  We've played three great games at home and won all three.  The most exciting of these games was the Friday night game on ESPN versus the Kansas Jayhawks.

ESPN at "The Rock"!

It was a great game and USM lead the whole time!  There were many exciting moments throughout the game, one of them even made the number one top play of the day on ESPN, as the announcer said "You're not in Kansas anymore, you're in HATTIESBURG!"  Loved it!

There was even a fireworks show after the game, great night for the Golden Eagles!

Last week the Golden Eagles played Marshall.  It was another great game and we won!  Before the game, friends gathered at the BSU on campus to celebrate our director, Lloyd's, 20th year at the USM BSU!  Lloyd has been a positive influence on all of our lives and a big part of our time at USM, it was great to celebrate with him and to visit with old friends.

I was asked to bake some sugar cookies for the event, I was super excited to help out!

Here are some of the cookies, it was a busy night of baking and icing,  I had to commission my mom to be my assistant.  She did a great job of keeping those pastry bags full!

Kristen and JP came from Tupelo and Margie from Vicksburg to join in the festivities.

There were many friends that I haven't seen since the BSU days.  It was great to catch up with them and see where God is leading them in their lives.  Meredith was an intern at the BSU when I was in college, she later went on to serve in Indonesia and is now in seminary.  She is a sweet friend, great to see her!

More friends!!

After wrapping up at the "B", we headed out to tailgate.

Which of course meant more cookies...

It was such a fun-filled day!  Go Eagles!!
