Ornament Swap and Cookie Exchange!

Christmas time is such a fun time of year! There are lots of parties and time to enjoy wonderful friends! This week I hosted an ornament swap and attended a great cookie exchange. It was a busy week of planning and baking but loads of fun!

First up, ornament swap! It was my month to host bunko and we decided to have an ornament swap for December. Everyone brought really cute ornaments and we all played "Dirty Santa" to swap the ornaments. There were some popular ornaments that were swapped around a few times, but in the end everyone got a great ornament.

I got a Southern Miss ornament, which is a perfect match for my Southern Miss tree!

Then there was the cookie exchange. Margie hosted a great cookie exchange. Her home was decorated beautifully, I loved all the festive decor! There was good food and fun. Kristen and I drove to Vicksburg for the morning to join in all the fun, I got to meet some Vicksburg friends and enjoyed getting to know them.

Here's my cookie box! There were so many great cookies, I'm glad to have all these recipes!

A funny "blog" story... Margie has many wonderful friends in Vicksburg, many of which have great blogs! It's always fun to read a great blog. I got to visit with two authors from some of these great blogs, Paige and Morgan. I met Paige at Mistletoe Market and met Morgan today, although I felt like I already knew a lot about them! It was fun to get to know them and confess our "blog stalking!" ha!

I brought "Bayou Brownies" to the exchange. I got this recipe from Southern Living, it was listed as one of the "50 Best Cookies of Christmas." Although not technically a "cookie" they were delicious!

Bayou Brownies
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup butter, melted
3 large eggs, divided
1 (18.25-oz.) package yellow cake mix
1 (8-oz.) package cream cheese, softened
1 (16-oz.) package powdered sugar
1. Combine pecans, butter, 1 egg, and cake mix, stirring until well blended; press in bottom of a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch pan.

2. Beat remaining 2 eggs, cream cheese, and powdered sugar at medium speed with an electric mixer until smooth. Pour over cake mix layer.

3. Bake at 325° for 40 minutes or until set. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares.
