10 Things About Me!
1. As many of you already know I teach Kindergarten, I am in my fourth year of teaching. I absolutely love my class! This year I was given the honor of "Teacher of the Year" for my school. I was very excited about receiving this and appreciative to all my fellow teachers who nominated me.
2. Although I have taken a little hiatus from running, it is something I really enjoy. In the Spring I completed my first half-marathon in the Mardi Gras Marathon in New Orleans. I never thought I would be able to run 13.1 miles, but I did and if I can do it ANYONE can!

3. I took one sewing class two summers ago and learned to sew a square bag, that is the extent of my sewing training. But I have watched lots of YouTube videos and read many blog tutorials and have learned how to sew skirts, T-shirt dresses, and applique. It is lots of fun and I love a craft project.

4. I have a mild obsession with Tim Tebow. And of course I have to find some Southern Miss connection with everything, so here it goes... In 2006, Southern Miss opened the football season in Gainesville against the Florida Gators. This was Tim Tebow's freshman year and first college game. Being the Southern Miss fan that I am, I was at "The Swamp" for this game (becoming more and more irritated by that silly Gator chomp!), and saw Tim Tebow play in his first college game and score his first touchdown. Little did anyone know he would go on to be the best college football player to ever play the game!
5. I love baking goodies, cookies, brownies, cakes, anything. At Christmas I love giving baked treats as gifts.

6. My middle name is Louise, old fashion but it has a good story behind it. It is my mother's middle name and her mother, Carol Louise and Sharon Louise. Also, on my dad's side it is his mother's middle name as well, Gerry Louise. It has also been passed down to my younger cousin, Rachel Louise.

7. I love sports and my favorite channel is ESPN. My favorite sport is baseball but I try to stay informed about whatever sport is in season. Although teaching is my dream job, if I could pick a second I would want to be a sports commentator for ESPN.
8. In high school I was a huge *NSYNC fan!! I knew all the lyrics, collected all the memorabilia, and went to several concerts. My friends and I once drove to Birmingham the night before tickets went on sale for their upcoming tour, we slept in sleeping bags all night in line waiting on the tickets to go on sale the next morning. We waited in line 16 hours for tickets!
9. I love school supply shopping! I love all the pencils, binders, notebooks, pens! Once for my birthday when I was in elementary school, I got a shopping spree to Office Depot. It was my favorite gift, I got to buy whatever I wanted, I was in school supply heaven!

10. This summer the Southern Miss baseball team made it to the College World Series for the first time in school history! I got the privilege of going to Omaha and being a part of this spectacular event! It was by far one of the best experiences ever, it was very special and surreal. In college I was a Diamond Darling for the baseball team, so it was extra special to see Coach Palmer end his career as head coach in Omaha.
