Touring Tupelo

Last weekend I took a trip to Tupelo to visit Kristen and Jonathan. They have lived in Tupelo for a couple of years and have a beautiful new home. I can't believe this is my first visit! It was a fun time and they were such great hosts!

Since I had never been to Tupelo, we thought I needed to see some of the famous places there. So we immediately made a quick trip to the birthplace of Elvis Presley. A small little white house, with people touring and taking pictures. I was the typical tourist, snapping shots and of course using the "flip" video!

I also visited their church, Calvary Baptist Church. It is a beautiful church and Kristen and JP sing in the choir. Calvary is celebrating their 75th anniversary this year!

After church we had lunch at a local restaurant, Romie's. The best fried green tomatoes in town!

A little 3D action for Toy Story 3!

Touring downtown Tupelo

A great town, you really feel like you're in the "South" when you are out and about in Tupelo. It was a great trip and fun times with friends!

  2. GREAT post! (of course, I would love it!) BTW-my dad owned a jewelry store downtown while I was growing up and his store front was in your picture, right behind you and Kristen with the guitar, it is a law office now.

    Glad you enjoyed yourself!
