Old Favorites

As if anyone didn't already know, its time for Girl Scout cookies. I ordered some from a little Girl Scout at school and my order has arrived. Now to try to figure out why I would even purchase them and what to do with them now! Anyway...I had to try the newest cookie, its a cranberry cookie named "Thank U Berry Munch." And I will say they are quite yummy.

Every year I always hope that they will bring back my favorite cookie, I remember enjoying it as a child and can't ever find it. When I try to describe it to other people they don't know what I'm talking about! It was the sandwich cookie with the raspberry filling and the small hole in the top cookie. Well, after some googling, I have discovered that I'm not the only one missing this cookie. It seems that there are various forums devoted to this cookie and even a facebook group protesting to bring back the "berry pinatas" (I finally figured out their name). One blogger even recreated a recipe for the cookie! Maybe the Girl Scouts will take note of all this and bring back the popular hit of the early 90s!

Another treat from my childhood that I always would receive in my Valentine mailbox when I was in elementary school were the Mickey Mouse "Luv Pops." The red heart shaped suckers where my favorite. Where have these gone? At my class party this year, one of my student's parents randomly mentioned that she too missed enjoying these holiday treats. So she I and went on the hunt. Again, to discover they had been discontinued!

Guess all good things must come to an end...ha!
