Pumpkin Patch

My Kindergarten class recently took a field trip to Mitchell Farms and visited the Pumpkin Patch. This is my third year to visit the Pumpkin Patch and it is one of the highlights of the fall and of the Kindergarten school year. It is such a fun field trip for the students, they love playing on the farm, the hay ride, corn maze, farm animals and of course picking their own pumpkins!

The pumpkins this year were more beautiful than ever! There were so many to chose from, this year they also had white pumpkins! We all got to pick a pumpkin and take it home. We couldn't wait to carve our pumpkins.

A great addition was the beautiful sunflowers. The farm always has beautiful sunflower fields, but this year they had a special field planted for us to pick our own sunflowers. This was lots of fun and the flowers were in full bloom! Oh and lots of buzzing bees!

We all had a fun day! I can't wait to go back next year. During my visit this year I learned that you can visit Mitchell Farms year round. You can pick your own blueberries, apples and peaches. And they sell all types of homemade jams, jellies, and goodies throughout the year too. What a fun place to visit.
